Streszczenie

Metody ustalania czasu śmierci na podstawie śladów entomologicznych są rzadko wykorzystywane w Polsce. Wynika to między innymi z braku przygotowania techników kryminalistyki do ujawniania, zbierania i zabezpieczania tej kategorii śladów.  W związku z tym opracowano katalog owadów przydatnych do ustalania czasu śmierci w lasach Polski. W artykule, będącym wprowadzeniem do zasadniczej części katalogu, przedstawiono krótką charakterystykę metod ustalania czasu śmierci na podstawie śladów entomologicznych. Ponadto zamieszczono wykaz gatunków muchówek i chrząszczy spełniających kryteria przydatności do ustalania czasu śmierci w lasach Polski oraz ogólnie scharakteryzowano zawartość katalogu.

Summary

Methods of postmortem interval (PMI) estimation from entomological evidence are rarely used in Poland. It results among others from the fact that crime scene technicians are not prepared to detect, collect and preserve this kind of evidence. For this reason a catalogue of insects useful for PMI estimation in forests of Poland was created. In this paper, which is an introduction to the main part of the catalogue, methods of PMI estimation from entomological evidence are shortly described. Moreover a list of species of flies and beetles meeting the criteria of usefulness for PMI estimation in forests of Poland is included and a content of the catalogue is generally presented.
