Streszczenie

Badania mechanoskopijne numeratorów z odwzorowaniami to jedno z prostszych badań porównawczych. Opisywany w publikacji przypadek jest szczególny, bowiem postawił przed badaczem dwa rzadko występujące wspólnie problemy. Pierwszy dotyczył klasyfikacji cech (w podziale na grupowe i indywidualne), którą utrudniała erozyjna i jednocześnie matrycowa metoda produkcji znakowników. Drugi dotyczył nietypowego użycia narzędzia, dzięki któremu ukryto uszkodzenie znakownika w postaci wgniecenia, które powinno się odwzorować na śladach – cyfrach nabitych - jako jednoznacznie indywidualna cecha charakterystyczna. Kluczem do rozwiązania problemów badawczych było ustalenie i odtworzenie mechanizmu działania narzędzia, pozwalające na pozytywną, kategoryczną identyfikację.

Summary

Toolmark examination of number stamps with their impressions is one of the simplest comparative examinations. The case discussed in the article is a peculiar one, because it involves an unusual combination of problems. The first problem concerned classification of characteristics (into group and individual ones), which was difficult due to erosion and matrix method number stamp production. The other problem was related to non-typical use of tools leading to detection of stamp damage (indentation), which should be reflected in stamped digits as a clear individual characteristics. The key to solving these problems was determining and reconstructing the mechanics of the tool allowing positive categorical identification.
