Stosowanie narkotyków w celach przestępczych jest poważym problemem o światowym zasięgu, dlatego ważne jest propagowanie rzetelnej wiedzy o ich niebezpiecznych właściwościach. Służby medyczne i policja powinny być odpowiednio przeszkolone, szczególnie w zakresie pobierania od ofiar zgwałcenia próbek moczu i ich zabezpieczania. Im szybciej próbki moczu ofiary trafią do laboratorium, tym większa szansa wykrycia narkotyku i ujęcia sprawcy przestępstwa.

Summary

Concern about drug-mediated assault is a serious and pressing problem world-wide and it is therefore very important to recognize the fact that so called „date-rape drugs" can make victims incapacitated or unconscious and prevent them from resisting. Such agents may be used criminally in drug-facilitated or drug – mediated sexual assault. Morever, in order to reduce and prevent drug-facilitated sexual assault, all staff engaged in medical care and public services as well as police must be educated regarding this kind of crime. When such crimes are suspected, it is important that staff take appropriate measures as s00n as possible, particularly in collecting suitable specimens such as urine in order to perform toxicological screening without delay. The sooner an urine specimen is obtained after the event, the greater the chance of detecting drugs that are rapidly eliminated from the body.
